Following their work on Singham Again, an action film, this will mark Ajay and Rohit’s shift back into the comedy genre.
Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty are teaming up once again after the massive box office success of Singham Again. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, the director confirmed that he will be bringing back the fifth installment of his hit comedy franchise Golmaal. Rohit also hinted at the timeline for the film, saying, “I think before any cop film, Golmaal will be the next.”
After working on an action-packed film, this project will mark Ajay and Rohit’s return to the comedy genre. When asked if the shift between genres would be challenging, Ajay explained, “We’re not switching worlds entirely on set. We’re switching from action to cut. After a shot, I can’t walk around like Singham; I have to be normal or I’d go insane.”
In another interview, Rohit shared that he’s eager to step away from the cop universe for a while. “I’ve been making cop films since 2008, and now I want to focus on something lighter. Golmaal is coming next,” he said. “After a big film like Singham, I’m ready to dive into a world that’s lighter and happier, where I’m not constantly worried.”
Singham Again is nearing the Rs 300 crore mark at the box office, becoming the highest-grossing film in the franchise to date.
